Isolation power supply: Isolation power supply means that the high voltage is reduced to low voltage through a transformer, and the rectifier becomes a DC voltage. Since the whole conversion process is not connected to the earth, it is not easy to have the risk of electric shock, and it is safer in operation, but the design scheme is more complicated than the non-isolated power supply.

Advantage:

1. High safety factor

2. Strong anti-interference

3. It is very easy to establish boost conversion and multi-channel output

4. Wide input voltage range

Disadvantages:

1. High conversion efficiency and low efficiency

2. Large volume

3. Complex design schemes and rising costs

Application areas:

1. In places with weak natural environment, where the AC power supply must have strong anti-interference ability and ensure its credibility, use isolation modules;

2. For the remote control of industrial production communication, in order to reduce the hazards of the potential difference and the interference of the transmission line, the isolated power supply is adopted;

3. For places with high safety factors, isolated power supply modules must be used;

4. For machinery and equipment with high power quality standards, use isolated power supplies, such as precision instruments.

Non-isolated power supply: Non-isolated power supply means that the input and output are directly connected according to the electronic components. The appearance of the isolated power supply and the non-isolated power supply is whether there is a difference between the transformer.

Advantages of non-isolated power supply:

1. High conversion efficiency

2. Smaller volume

3. Very easy to design and low cost

Non-isolated power supply defect:

1. Low safety factor

2. Poor anti-interference

3. Difficult to achieve boost conversion and multiple output

4. Low input voltage range

Use place:

1. The IC or part of the power circuit power supply system in the circuit board adopts non-isolated power supply from the perspective of price comparison and volume;

2. Use a rechargeable battery power supply system, with strict regulations on endurance, and use a non-isolated power supply.
