Product Description
TD301D232H / TD 5 01D232H is a high-speed single-channel isolated RS - 232 transceiver, suitable for bidirectional data communication, ***. The high baud rate can reach 115.2k bps. The transceiver has an integrated isolation DC/DC converter. It only requires a single power supply to achieve electrical isolation between the controller and the RS-232 transceiver. The high isolation voltage reaches 2500VDC, and there is no need to configure an isolated power supply , which is convenient for users to apply . Since the control ground is completely isolated from the bus ground , it can withstand higher common mode voltages. Components with internally integrated anti- static function, through the IEC61000-4-2 air discharge test, the human body model ( HBM ) has an ESD protection capability of more than ± 15kV. Use dual inline insertionDIP8 package has the characteristics of small size and high integration.

Note: ( 1) The input voltage cannot exceed the specified range value, otherwise irrecoverable damage may occur.
( 2) This parameter is limited to 232 communication ports, namely RIN, TOUT, and RGND. The primary module is not grounded during testing.

Circuit design
The RSM232 isolating transceiver modules RXD and TXD pins support 3.3V and 5V system levels and can be embedded directly into the circuit board to communicate with external devices through a serial interface. If the user needs to connect external devices through the DB9 serial port line, the internal connection of the DB9 serial port line must be considered. There are two types of DB9 serial port line: 2 and 3 pin direct connection and cross connection. Figure 1 and Figure 2 show a typical connection circuit for the RSM232 module to the serial interface of the MCU, and the 232 channel uses direct connection and cross-serial port line to communicate with external devices.

Typical recommended circuits for EMC
If the RSM232 module is used in situations where the environment is harsh (such as high voltage power, lightning strikes, etc.), in order to ensure the reliable operation of the module, it is recommended that users add TVS tubes, lightning protection tubes and other devices to form a port protection circuit at the TOUT and RIN terminals of the module. The specific recommended application circuit is shown in Figure 3, and the recommended parameters are shown in Table 1. The recommended circuit diagram and parameter values are only used as reference. Please determine whether the devices in the circuit diagram are needed based on the actual situation.

If you need to meet specific surge level requirements, it is recommended to use the recommended protection circuit shown in Figure 3. Table 1 gives a set of recommended device parameters. The recommended circuit diagram and parameter values are only used as reference. Please determine the appropriate parameter values according to the actual situation.
